Loving RG (Liv) is 18 years old and from Hungary. She started her second RG account in early 2025 after her first one got hacked, and has grown to over 3000 followers over the past year! In celebration of continuing her account even after having to start over from scratch, and hitting 3k followers, Liv agreed to answer a few questions about herself and her own RG journey for the Rhythmic Report

How she discovered and her Journey in Rhythmic Gymnastics

“There was a kid in the kindergarten whose sister was a rhythmic gymnast (and later was selected to the national team). She told my mom that she thought rhythmic gymnastics would be a great sport for me and invited me to her club.  There was a beginner group at that time, so I could join them. I immediately fell in love with the sport, and later, I changed clubs. I've never achieved a very high-level in rhythmic gymnastics, but it was also never my goal. RG always remained a hobby to me; I loved the sport and trained for 12 years.

What would you consider your best achievement in the sport?

“I'd probably say that I was so persistent. When I retired from RG. There was only one girl who was part of the club longer than me.”

What life lessons do you think Rhythmic Gymnastics has taught you?

“Discipline, teamwork, and the ability to accept that things don't always go the way you planned.”

Could you share a bit about your decision to retire, and what advice would you give athletes who also retire because of school or future career goals?

“I've always wanted to be a dentist, and in the middle of high school years, I reached a point when I could no longer balance gymnastics and my studies. I had to choose between them and studying for university.

It was not an easy choice to make, but I knew that I would have to sacrifice the sport for my career, and I don't regret it. It was a slow process. I started by reducing the amount of training so I could get used to the change, both mentally and physically.

My advice would be not to be afraid of making big decisions. If you have a goal, you always have to make sacrifices, and that's ok.”

What inspired you to start your RG account?

“About one week before the World Championships in Valencia, I decided to start an RG fan account, because I felt the urge to support the participating gymnasts. I had no idea back then that I was making one of the best decisions ever.”

What are some of the biggest things you have gained from running your account?

“There are too many to list them all. But, first and foremost, I am able to support the gymnasts directly and get to know some of them. I've received really sweet messages from them and been able to meet some gymnasts. I've also made valuable friendships, including a close friend, who I would have never known if I hadn't had the account.”

Can you tell a bit about the story of your account getting hacked?

“One day, when I woke up, I saw that I had received a message on my private account from a friend who manages another RG page. She said she had seen some strange things on my account, such as posts and stories about cryptocurrency. I realised that my account had been hacked. I tried to get it back, but unfortunately it was too late because the hacker had done everything during the night. I was so confused, but I didn't want to leave the community, so I decided to open a new one.”

What was that experience like for you? Do you think it taught you anything important unexpectedly?

“Of course it was horrible at first, but then I started to see things differently. With my first account, I decided to post once a week and I constantly checked the numbers (followers, likes, etc.), which put a lot of pressure on me. When I created the new account, I realised that these things aren't important at all. I have this account for two reasons: to support the gymnasts and to enjoy owning it.

I finally understood that it doesn't matter if I don't post regularly because I have no time or I don't want to, the only important thing is to enjoy it.”

What advice would you give to people who want to start Rhythmic Gymnastic pages?

“Don't be afraid to open your own page. It doesn't matter if you feel like you don't have much time for it, the most important thing is that you enjoy it. Trust me, you won't regret making this decision. Just go for it!”

And finally, how does it feel to hit 3k followers! And do you have a message for everyone who supports your page?

It's an incredible feeling! Thank you so much to all of you. I'm so grateful for all the support and kind words I receive every day. Love you all!

Thank you @loving__rg
