Alice Taglietti first started gymnastics at the age of 6. She discovered it by seeing a poster featuring rhythmic gymnastics near her house, and she fell in love with the sport as soon as she entered the gym. Since then, Alice has had a very successful gymnastics career; she became a national champion in the junior category in 2020 and 2021, among other achievements. However, soon after, her professional career was put on pause, and Alice took a break from competitions. But she didn't give up, and later returned to rhythmic gymnastics. By the end of 2024, she won an Italian gold title and returned to the national team. In 2025, she competed at the Aphrodite Cup in Greece. Placing second in the all-around, she won gold in the ball final and bronze in the clubs and hoop finals. In the same year, she competed at the World Cup in Tashkent, qualifying for the ball final. In 2025, she also competed at the European championships, winning gold in the team competition.

Alice very kindly agreed to share some of her experience with the Rhythmic Report.

What has been the most memorable competition of your career so far?

“My most important senior competition was the European Championships in Tallinn in 2025. In preparation for that event, I competed

at the World Cup in Tashkent, and they were both very beautiful competitions and important experiences for me.”

What has been the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your career, and how were you able to overcome it?

“The most difficult moment of my career was in 2021, when I decided to stop competing for a while. I went through both a mental and physical journey in order to come back stronger than before, with the help of my family and professionals.”

What does a typical training week look like for you?

“I train for eight hours every day. On Saturdays, I do half a day of training, and on Sundays, I often have competitions. Outside of sport, I really enjoy traveling and spending time with my friends and family.”

What was your childhood like, balancing school and sport?

During my career, I attended both public and private schools to balance sport and school. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but I think gymnastics has helped me find my balance and become very organized.

How do you mentally experience competitions? Are you someone who feels a lot of pressure, or are you able to enjoy the moment?

“I experience competitions with a bit of pressure, but at the same time, I’m also able to enjoy the moment. Over time, I’ve managed to improve a lot in that aspect.”

What does representing Italy mean to you?

Representing Italy is a great honor and brings me great happiness.”

What are your goals, both in and outside of rhythmic gymnastics?

“One goal, or dream, that I have in rhythmic gymnastics is the World Championships. Outside of gymnastics, my closest goal right now is graduating from high school, and then I think I’ll go to university.”

What do you consider your greatest achievement so far?

The achievements that mean the most to me so far are the competitions when I’m able to feel 100% at my best and truly enjoy myself.”

You have a very unique and recognizable style as a gymnast. Do you actively take part in choosing the music and creating your routines?

“Yes, I actively participate in building the routine and choosing the music. Very often, I find a lot of the music myself, because I think it’s easier to really feel the music when we genuinely like it. I think it’s something innate; I don’t think it’s something that can simply be created. Of course, over time, I have worked on it, but there’s a natural foundation. I feel very represented by my routines.

What has been your favorite routine you’ve performed in competition so far?

“I don’t have a favorite one; there are truly so many. They all mean a lot to me because each one has important and unique work behind it.”
